I always knew that my Engineering degree would come in handy some day. The steel pole next to the step ladder is something
I dreamed up to solve the problem of no concrete floor in the garage on which to build the pillar
between the single and double garage doors. If you pour concrete around the wood it will rot.
The pillar is needed for support before the weight of the roof, and framing can be added above.
This threatened to delay construction. Having already experienced enough construction delays for one lifetime, I formulated my plan.
Concrete will be poured around the pole, and the pillar will eventually be built around the pole.
